When you have neodymium magnets the possibilities for innovative DIY crafts and home improvement projects are endless. You can can organize everything more efficiently or hang temporary decorations for fall with magnets. If you add heat shrink tubing to your supply list, there are even more possibilities especially if you want to avoid a gluey mess. Here are five things you can magnetize with heat shrink tubing to make them easily accessible and harder to lose:
  1. Pens: If you’re always losing your pen at work or at home, use heat shrink tubing and put a small disc magnet on it. With the magnet attached securely, you won’t lose your pen again because it will attract to metal surfaces such as a desk or refrigerator.
  2. Glasses: You can use heat shrink tubing to attach a magnet to your reading glasses or protective eyewear.
  3. Flashlight: If you have a plastic flashlight, use heat shrink tubing to attach a magnet. During a power outage, you will be able to find your flashlight easily by securing it to the fridge or other easily accessible metal surface. You can also store it on your DIY magnetic key rack.
  4. Plastic kitchen utensils: You probably already have a magnetic knife holder for you knives, but what about your plastic utensils? With heat shrink tubing you can attach different shapes of magnets so your plastic utensils are as easily accessible as your knives. You can even add them to your DIY magnetic spice rack.
  5. Toothbrush: If you attach a magnet to the bottom of your toothbrush using heat shrink tubing, you can keep your toothbrush away from germs or keep it with your makeup.
Before you use heat shrink tubing, make sure you use a safe heating agent and follow proper safety guidelines.
